Sacramento Martial Arts

Promotion News!
Newsflash! We had the awesome and exhilarating experience of promoting several students last week.

Children's class promotions were:
Tyler Miller and Alexander "Alex" Raj were promoted to Yellow Belt on Feb. 11, 2010.
Keep up the good work!

Adult class promotions were:
Bryan Parker was promoted from second degree to first degree brown on Feb. 17, 2010.
Gary Arnold and Michael Cole were promoted from purple belt to blue belt Feb. 11, 2010.
Awesome job! Make sure to give them some kudos the next time you see them.
At the intermediate stage you are leaving the mechanical and entering the spontaneous stage. So when you practice, every so often let your reactions take charge and see what transpires.

Sacramento Martial Arts

Body Alignment

This involves the placing of angles into perspective. It is the coordination of body parts in order to harmonize the angles at which they travel. All parts of the body are aligned to travel in one direction. This principle, when followed, automatically triggers the principle of back-up-mass where body weight enhances your action.

Inward Parry
A blocking method (usually with an open hand) that requires your blocking arm to travel from outside in as it redirects a blow or kick by riding or going with the force.

SKK NEWS

Wow! One month down and eleven more to go.
SKK is on the move. We are growing. We are the premier American Kenpo Dojo in the greater Sacramento area.
Our children's class:
  1. Travis
  2. Alex
  3. Tyler
  4. Andrew
  5. Daeton
  6. James
  7. Mackenzie
The children's class has been a real blast to teach. Tyler is a dedicated and hardcore Kenpo student and we are very pleased with his progress. Travis is learning his materials to earn purple. Alex is looking very good and is a very positive asset to his fellow students. Daeton and Andrew are the new dynamic duo, they are learning and progressing very nicely, James is our newest member and he is also a fast learner and it is a pleasure to work with him.
All of our students in our children's class are fast becoming junior Kenpoists.
Keep up the good work!
Our Adult Class:
  1. Bryan
  2. Eugene
  3. Jeff
  4. Michael
  5. Gary
  6. Lisa
  7. Keith
  8. Ron
  9. Jason
  10. Rob
  11. Greg
Our adult class is slowly but surely growing. We have a wonderful group of students and it is amazing to experience the family atmosphere. Everyone is unique with what they bring to class, whether it is humor or skills or both. We all have a common desire to learn Kenpo. Please, if you have not done so already, please introduce yourself to Rob.
Again, please let us know by phone or e-mail if you cannot show up for class.
All students need to have their dues paid by the 10th of every month. Thank you.
